Giant Slide Obsession

Anyone notice how this year the news media is obsessed with the Giant Slide at the State Fair? It's not like it is new or anything. The thing has been there for over 20 years that I can remember. But this year the TV news outlets and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel are ballyhooing it like it is something brand new. What gives?
